Directory of Phlebotomy Certification Agencies

The nationally recognized organizations listed here are recommended by the Center for Phlebotomy Education, Inc.

 Many organizations attempt to certify phlebotomists. However, not all are reputable or in good standing with the Better Business Bureau. Before investing time and money in programs that promise to lead to certification, make sure you will be taking an exam from one of the organizations listed here. Our approval, however, does not constitute an endorsement of the organization or of it's certification. Phlebotomists seeking certification should compare the requirements and benefits of each organization carefully when making this important decision.

These organizations:

• are nationally recognized;
• are in good standing with the Better Business Bureau;
• are known to engage in ethical business practices;
• use instruction, materials and exams that reflect current CLSI standards;
• require all applicants to take an examination.

The Center believes that in order for certification to be meaningful, all applicants must be subject to examination and required to obtain continuing education credits in order to maintain their certification.
