At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will be able to:
Identify errors in specimen collection, transportation and processing that can significantly alter results;
Train other allied health care professionals assigned to phlebotomy duties to become aware of preanalytical errors and the effect they have on the specimens collected and transported to the laboratory;
List the analytes affected by delayed processing and the affect that time, temperature and storage conditions can have on test results.
